05/12/2020 Fishing Report

Its been busy on the lakes here in Central Florida! With fishing being considered an essential outdoor activity, many fishermen are taking advantage of their extra time to hit the water and catch some fish. Currently only certain boat ramps are open, but are the only ones that need to be for me. Living close to Johns Lake, that is the lake I have been fishing the most, but Toho has been producing some good days as well. Solid numbers with some great fish in the mix on both lakes. Live bait is always a great option to catch fish, but soft plastics are also hard to beat this time of year. Texas-rigged Blueberry Worm has produced the best results on Toho. Zoom Super Fluke (watermelon/red fleck) is the go to for action on Johns and is an easy bait for people to use. This weekend, the Butler Chain Boat Ramp as well as the Conway Chain Boat Ramp is scheduled to open back up which should help slow traffic to Johns and Toho. However, we are still in tournament season and that means crowded boat ramps on the weekends regardless. Due to the pandemic, I have quite a few days left available this month and next. If you are looking to get out and have some fun catching fish, give me a call and lets get out on the water!
